Seattle has the highest number of arts-related businesses per capita, so take advantage of this unique opportunity and visit a few art galleries, see local artwork and handcrafts, catch a show, listen to live music and more!

Take in the latest exhibit and peruse the more than 23,000 cultural art pieces from around the world. (Don’t miss a great photo op with the Hammering Man located right outside SAM’s front door!)
Fun Facts about the Hammering Man:
- He’s the second largest in the world…46’ high and weighing in at 26,000 pounds!
- The Hammering Man's arm "hammers" silently and smoothly four times per minute from 7 am to 10 pm every day. It runs on a 3-hp electric motor set on an automatic timer.
- Hammering Man rests its arm each evening and every year on Labor Day.
On your way to visit a few of the more than 30 fine art galleries in Pioneer Square, be sure to stroll down Western Ave in the West Edge to check out the many amazing and unique furniture stores. Once you’ve reached Pioneer Square, enjoy lunch at a local eatery or get your meal to go as you take-in local art, handcrafts and more.
If you visit Pioneer Square on the first Thursday of the month, you are in for a treat! Discover Seattle’s most talented emerging artists at Art in the Park on First Thursdays, February through December. Grab a latte and stroll through historic Occidental Park to immerse yourself in the Emerald City's vibrant independent art scene. Featured artists display their latest creations - anything from drawing, sculpture, ceramics, mixed-media, painting and photography to traditional jewelry and crafts will be on display for you to see.
Make your way back to the West Edge, where you can enjoy a relaxing dinner prior to attending a comedy show, a live musical or theatrical performance at one of Downtown Seattle’s many theaters or music halls.
